Over thirty acts, spanning several genres, come together to draw crowds and entertain the masses throughout the four-day affair. The headlining acts include Hard Working Americans, plus Travelin’ McCourys and the Jeff Austin Band, who present The Grateful Ball. Delight in the sounds of Whiskey Shivers, Sam Outlaw, Ha Ha Tonka, Mandolin Orange, Elephant Revival, Yarn, Driftwood, Dead Horses, Billy Strings, The Honeycutters, and many more. Kick off the performances, and the festival, during the official kick-off party. There are craft whiskey and spirited cocktail samples from distilleries all over Tennessee. There are also plenty of hors d’ouevres to sample. The kick-off party requires a VIP pass to enjoy.
Outdoor enthusiasts can participate in several competitions over the weekend. There are running events all throughout the festival. If you compete in all of them you will have finished a half marathon over three days. Prefer cycling? Sign up for one or more of the biking events. There are also three fishing competitions, for all ages, with over $3000 in cash and prizes. The events have something to attract everyone. But, feel free to just come and spectate if you prefer. Each event requires registration. There is a discount for each additional event you add if you can’t pick just one.
Sugarlands MountainFest is nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. You will want to park in a parking lot downtown and walk to the campgrounds.
The 2017 festival takes place from September 28 to October 1. You can purchase tickets on the Sugarlands MountainFest website. You can buy tickets for one day or the entire weekend. Passes are for the festival only, or for the festival and the sporting competitions. Get your tickets early; this festival will fill up fast.
